Date: 2004-12-06 11:32 pm (UTC)As far as Linux goes, yeah, it's decidedly not for the novice, but it's come a long way towards getting there. especially distros like Fedora Core, which I like to use. It's got a really good program for installing and removing software, and support for most anything you want to put to it. I"ve even had it running dual head before, that was pretty cool. though, for the most part, my linux machine runs headless, and I access it from my windows machine with Hummingbird's program "Exceed". Great remote X client. ONe of the things that is drawing me towards Mac myself, is that I might be able to run my servers, and my desktop machines with the same OS, or possibly even run just one machine. As it is, I have to have at least 2. But before I do the big purchase, I want to try it out , do a lot of different thing s with it and see if I can use it inplace of Windows and Linux for what I do.

PS, Vic might be interested to know, that the little Visor he had at MFF 2000, I now have one just like it. I guess that comes with the territory of having a mate, I gave my iPAQ to him. *laughs*
