The first church I remember going to was a Nazarene church, between Oakwood and Danville, then one in Oakwood. (I think the one in town was Nazarene.)
The first church I went to in Cobden was a Presbyterian church. Went for a couple years, then after a unit in 8th grade English, is sort of converted to Greek Paganism, specifically a devotee of Athena. Fairly seriously, for that age.
Then some older guys in high school invited me to their church, and to a bible study... which I went to. I will admit a large part of the reason I went was to be with them. »blushes« That was the First Baptist Church in Cobden. I eventually did get baptised in that church.
For awhile, I went to a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Anna, because my girlfriend's family went.
Probably about a year after I started college, I reverted back to my Pagan beliefs, which is pretty much where my beliefs currently are. Not specifically Greek Paganism, but just a general NeoPagan, like many people are just general Christian.

obviously, variations on this are widespread

"The problem with Livejournal is that we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. Hence, I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don’t know about you."
So… ask. Something you think you should know, but don’t.

Presidential election 2008
Jan. 6th, 2008 09:53 pmI've seen this quiz/meme floating around, but didn't take it until my hubby (
javarod) sent me the link to it.
I must say, it does reflect my choices fairly well. (need to look up a bit on Chris Dodd, who came up 2nd on my list. {just went to Wikipedia, and it looks like he has already withdrawn his candidacy})
I don't remember if I mentioned it here or not, but Arizona is closed primary election. You can only vote for candidates in 1 party, and only if you are registered with that party as your preference. My actual preference is independent/no party preference.
I have changed my registered party to Democrat recently, and will be voting in the 5 February 2008 primary. I will be voting for Bill Richardson, who is who I was already planning on.
I really dislike the campaign this year. I like the plan I have seen, with regional blocks that rotate each campaign cycle.
87% Bill Richardson
80% Chris Dodd
76% Barack Obama
76% John Edwards
75% Hillary Clinton
66% Mike Gravel
62% Joe Biden
60% Dennis Kucinich
55% John McCain
51% Rudy Giuliani
50% Mike Huckabee
41% Mitt Romney
38% Tom Tancredo
34% Fred Thompson
29% Ron Paul

Paganistic
Mar. 14th, 2007 09:07 pm You scored as Eastern Pagan. Eastern Pagans come in two breeds; The Buddhist-Pagan, who follows the Buddhist belief of the "middle way" and the Hindu-pagan, who leans to the Hindu Pantheon of gods. Thoughtful, calm, insightful individuals are often drawn to Eastern mythology and thought. Enlightenment is more than a theory; it's a state of mind to aspire to, and there are certain key elements that you've found in the Eastern paths that offer to help you on the journey. Those who seek these paths are often the teachers, the peacemakters and the intellectualists of our world.

Mar. 6th, 2006 09:09 amI really do not like moving.
Our lease on this place was 6-month, up at the end of this month.
Jos found a place more downtown, about equal distance from both our jobs, and we put in application, which was approved. $800 for a studio apt.
I was looking at Apartment Ratings and the complex is on there. In fact, it is the one with the most reviews... a lot negative. Now, I take the reviews with a large grain of salt, but with that many negative, for years, many of them stating similar issues, makes me think twice and even thrice.
Jos looked up a couple apartments on Craig's List , so I get to go look at them today.
I came across the following memish thing, on a link from a friend of friend.
The TV Guide cover for my birthday.
