one thing I was going to mention last post and forgot:

I am thinking of getting a gaming console. Yes, I am one of the people who does not have a gaming console. The last one I had was an Atari 2600. (I wonder whatever happened to it? I had quite a few game cartridges also...)

I believe PlayStation 3 has the two games I want available on it.
I've been playing Amazing Katamari Damacy on my iPad, and think it would be neat to play the regular game.
an upload of a Katamari from Amazing Katamari, cut because it's somewhat large )

Another game I would somewhat like to play is Kingdom Hearts.

I don't really like first-person shooter games, which seem to be what get most of the attention.

Here is a Katamari playthrough on youtube.

Anybody have any recommendations as to what console or games I should get? I don't see myself playing a whole lot, just occasionally.

This is going to be a bit of a braindump I think:

I bought a Kenmore sewing machine from Goodwill, back when we were still living in Phoenix. I never got around to using it then, and it made it's way to StL, staying unused. I also bought a few sewing how to books. I recently took it to get it checked out and oiled, and it is working A-OK. I am trying it out, so we shall see where it goes. (gee, why does that seem to be a recurring theme in my life?) Somehow, I see myself creating stuff that Seph and myself would wear and enjoy more sewing rather than knitting or crochet, two other fiber arts I've tried learning within the past year or so.

I've been reading a lot of the Grantville Gazettes recently. I subscribed on the site early in January, and am currently up to volume XVII. I enjoy this alternate history.
Comics... not so much. I have trimmed down quite a bit, and really should trim more. I am really not that interested in much that DC is doing lately. Though they are in a bit of holding pattern since Doomsday Clock was actually supposed to be finished already, and that is supposed to rewrite the status quo of the DC Multiverse, yet again... (another link to Doomsday Clock: https://www.comics.org/series/118800/ ) but it got majorly delayed... The one somewhat hopeful thing is that it may bring back the Legion of Super-Heroes... though with the way Dan Didio has been treating DC, I'm really not sure if this is a good thing...

Ingress, I enjoyed the animation series on Netflix! I am getting a bit more involved with the local players again. (I am Enlightened faction. Mostly because I always said that in the original Independence Day movie, I would have been one of the people on the roofs of buildings, welciming the aliens and getting killed in the process.

I am also helping out with the Saint Louis Pen Show.

I need to think about and schedule time off from work. I have 20 vacation days that I need to use.

Heading to sleep, sweet dreams alles. I will probably blather on some more tomorrow.

 Let's see:
We've added a new player in our Monday night Pathfinder gaming. He has a previous relationship with another player, and it definitely shows. I assume it wasn't a particularly bad breakup, since they come in the same car. They do tend to get each other annoyed occasionally. Our characters leveled up to 5th level on Monday, which means I need to do dome more work with PCGen.

Duncan DaHusky is doing a month long road trip / vacation around the west half of US and Canada. He will be in StL at the end of the month, Staying with Rama. Who I know I've met, but can't place. And he seems to be living here in Florissant. Would be odd / funny if he is in the same neighborhood as we live in. Maybe that might help get Seph out of the house some?

There is a Titan Arum getting ready to flower at the MO Botanical Garden sometime soon. I do want to get down there for it. I want to get down there in general.

I went to Cardinals game on the 4th, since we had 2 tickets left that no one else claimed. I almost didn't get to enter Busch Field. I had taken my nurse with me, and since it more of a 'backpack' than a purse, the first gate I went to refused to do the security check on it. Wandered around a bit outside, and decided to try a different gate before heading back home. Since it was after the start of the game, and it wasn't currently busy on people entering, the guy at the second gate I tried looked at it. And took the time to explain the reasoning. Basically, he said that women's purses are mostly one large compartment, and they can just look in, whereas my nurse has several outside compartments... I still think it is more of a useless / sexist distinction, but next time I go down, I will be sure not to take my murse.

more to write, but falling asleep, so will try  to do more tomorrow

Gaming

My current main gaming group is currently split in 2, because 2 of them moved to Las Vegas last year. It has made it difficult to get our 'main' campaign finished, even though we are basically only 1 or 2 sessions from finishing it. We meet on Mondays @ Tyger's and Tron's house (Tron is the GM for the current main and backup campaign. Both are in PathFinder system. Though I think we will be switching to the StarFinder system when it comes out this summer, since Tron tends to do it that way anyway (especially the main campaign.) which does throw some oddities into it, pushing the base PathFinder system to modern/future setting.

Anyway, everyone in the group is supposed to have a campaign ready to go for when we [finally] finish the main campaign. I'm planning on proposing a GURPS Supers campaign. I need to actually WORK on getting a campaign idea set up. I'm wanting it to be something like Alex Woolfson's The Young Protectors. My trouble is just getting everything created/set down. Also, the fact that none of us have actually played in the GURPS system before…

I have started moving my cleric in the backup campaign to a digital format (PCGEn file) on my Linux box as of last night. I've been holding off on taking him up to 14th level (for in game reasons, he was thinking of infiltrating a sect of Inquisitors of Serenrae, by joining them and get some training. That plot was resolved differently.) I am thinking of doing Holy Vindicator prestige class.

heart etc.

well, it's been a little over a month since my heart palpitations.

Saw doctor, and he agreed, should see cardiologist.
Saw cardiologist, who wants to do more tests, starting with a home sleep study last Wed/Thursday. Also a stress test early next month.
The home sleep study let them know I have moderate Sleep Apnea, and they were going to schedule a full polysomnography, to see how I react to a CPAP.
Reading up on them, I came across Cheynes-Stokes respiration and deviated septum, both of which I have some symptoms of. (Basically, my breathing pattern is somewhat irregular. I can't breath long term through nose. I will have to breathe through mouth regularly. I tend to breathe in cycles, fairly light / shallow then a few deeper breathes.)
I let the cardiologist know about the odd breathing pattern, asking if the sleep study needed to know about that, or if they would be on the lookout for it, and they said I should actually see an Ear/Nose/Throat doc about that first.
So, seeing yet another doctor next week.
I wish I had access to the CAT scans that I've had done of my head, when I was having migraines more regularly. I had at least 2 sets done when we lived in AZ, but I don't remember where. That would probably help him with figuring out if I have a deviated septum.

I think I have a couple friends who use CPAP machines... What is it like? Something tells me I am going to have to shave for it to be effective? (current beard is pretty much like the icon)

In other news, I think I have settled on a half-Satyr for my next character. small horns, and the goaty feet, but no level adjustment stuff. Thinking of doing a fighter/cleric. (haven't fully decided, and the game is in a couple hours!)

Well, that was annoying.

One of the players forgot his sheet @ home tonight (a Bard).
We decided to play without him tonight.

2 party members ended up dying, including my character. (Bariaur cleric of Shiva)
I got one shot off, and then a one-shot death.
Kobold, mounted on a Warg. Charged, criticalled, and rolled max damage. 112 points damage. Survivors weren't able to retrieve my body. :(

I liked him.

RIP Flokin Rengar, you shall be avenged!

Next character will probably be cleric again. Or may do a paladin. I sorta liked being one of the main damage dealers of the party.
Maybe a satyr. Or may just play a human.

creativity has been on major break this week.

The D&D campaign ended somewhat abruptly, leading to vote for next campaign. We've been playing 3.5 so far, as that is what Tron has most books for. (I've picked up a Player's Guide, and book of exalted deeds ) Tron's run most campaigns, Semi ran this last one. Kane (new player) is probably next best to run a campaign, though not sure if he wants to. He has pretty much all of the 3.5 books too.

I have not been able to come up with a idea for campaign. Last vote, i was sorta thinking Shadowrun, but noone voted for it.
I will admit, i tend to not think about the game much other than game nights.
Most of what i can think of is the world/system. The actual details are just sorta blank.

What I'd rsally like would be to play a World Tree campaign. However iI'm the only one in group with book, which sorta limits ability to tun a campaign with it.
