Well, yesterday was fun. :)
We're still trying to figure out a way to keep the Green Bean. I have to call Tammy at Centrix again today, see if we're going to keep playing phone tag again.
Made a birthday card for Tess (Scan Admin Manager) printed it out @ Kinko's and dropped it off @ work, so everyone could sign it. (Annoyingly, Kinko's remote print thingie, where you can send stuff to be printed @ Kinko's from home doesn't have a Mac version. You would think that they would... I need to go to their website and suggest it.)
After dropping it off, we headed up to Prescott, AZ. Beautiful drive up there. A few places along I-17, you we could see where the Cave Creek Complex fire (at least, that's the one we think it was) had burnt. I really wish I had had a digital camera with me on this trip. Any camera would have been nice, but digital would have been wonderful, just so many things I wanted to take pictures of!
Jos would love to move up to Prescott to live. I wouldn't mind it, but would be just a bit much of a commute for me. O.o While a lot of the stuff I do @ work would be amenable to doing TeleCommuting, not all of it would. Some of it could be fixed fairly easily, but still there are a few parts that would be difficult. Esp. since Diana and I do so much of the same stuff, she'll take one email, and I'll take the next.... Phonecalls from stores...
coming home was nice. Got caught in a MAJOR monsoon storm when we got to Phoenix.
Jos and I were actually out driving when it hit, and I mean it HIT! We were
coming south on the 17, and could see the lighting and clouds. Stopped @ The
Anthem WalMart, and then on south. LOTS of wind, and Jos hit several
tumbling tumbleweeds, but no rain. Got off at the Union Hills offramp,
still no rain, but the wind was pushing a LARGE piece of plastic along Union
Hills. Turned onto UH (after letting the plastic go by), went under the 17,
and just as we got to the top of the hill, where UH flattens out, WHAM!
There wasn't really any preliminary at that point, just sudden deluge!
Made it home safely, even without being able to see the stripes! Then I went
out and just enjoyed the rain!
