Well, since I don't really do much with this blog, I think I will start doing some comics reviews.
First up is going to be Manhunter by DC Comics.
Writer: Marc Androyko Issues 18, 19, 20. I bought these due to good recommendations on the Gay League America mailing list. I will be adding it to my subscription list. (oh, and the 'music' is a podcast I have recently started listening to. Comic Geek Speak)
The main reason I picked up issue 18 is that a long time character in the DC Universe comes out of the closet. Obsidian (Todd Rice) has been around since before the original Crisis on Infinite Earths (I didn't read Infinity, Inc. when it was first coming out, though I may try to pick it up, along with back issues of Manhunter to see previous appearances of Damon Matthews (Obsidian's boyfriend.) These 2 characters only appear on two pages. #18 is the 3rd part of an ongoing arc.
#19 is the final issue of the arc. It is also the last issue before the One Year Later jump. Todd and Damon are the focus of 2 pages again, including a shot of the two of them in bed! :) Damon finds out about Todd's family, when his father appears in a power ring projection, telling Todd about the death of his sister in space.
With #20, the DC Universe has jumped One Year Later. We won't find out everything that happened in the intervening year, until the weekly series 52 comes out in a month or so. Todd has started superheroing at some point in this year.
