I bought the first season DVD set of Land of the Lost several months ago. I'm just getting around to watching it. Had some big name writers. The episode I'm watching right now is "Downstream" by Larry Niven! other writers are David Gerrold and D.C. Fontana.
I remember watching it every Saturday morning as a kid.

They said on the news tonight that so far this year, we've had more rain here in Phoenix than they've had in Portland!

I bought that box set myself about a month ago. Man, did that bring back memories for me too. I can't wait until they release the rest of the series. I don't remember how many years it was on either, do you? I remember at one point, Rick got sent home and Uncle Jack came in to replace him.

I'd also like to see a box set of the Kroft SuperShow, the original, that had Dr. Shrinker in it. That was a cool minishow in and of itself.

the original series was 3 seasons.
then there was a 'remake / redo' a few years ago.

I have both Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. Season 3 (with Uncle Jack) is due out in May. My favorite Season 1 episode is "Elsewhen"... it was brilliant! The one that scared/disturbed me the most was probably "Album"... it was uber-creepy! "The Possession" would be a close second. Although I thought the synthesizer music (when Chaka enters the pylon and is possessed by the wand) was hauntingly beautiful. Season 1 had several good episodes.

Season 2 was also very good, but that's when the series became really trippy. Literally psychedelic and surreal. If/when you buy the Season 2 DVD set, be sure and pay close attention to "The Longest Day", "Pylon Express", "The Musician" and "Split Personality". Season 2 also brought us such characters as the Zarn, and things like the Library of Skulls (in the Lost City). Great stuff!

amazingly enough, I did. :)
(amazing, because I've gotten into the bad habit of just reading 2 of my friends groups, instead of all of them.... now that I'm not working @ Wal*Mart anymore, I'm going to try to keep up with all of them. O.o I don't know how ppl who have their friends maxed out can keep up!)

a couple of my cousins used to play Land of the Lost a lot. Somehow, I always ended up being Holly. o.O

Either they changed the theme song later, or I've been misremembering it all these years. I'd remembered the last part, where they're going over the waterfall as "plunged them to the valley deep below" whereas for the ones I've seen, it's "plunged them all a thousand feet below".

the only episode I specifically remember is the one where they were in a spaceship made of lights. (probably 2nd season, tho maybe 3rd. don't remember who the adult was.)
