Currently out on back porch smoking a cigarette while typing this in. :) (using iJournal tonight...)
Switching to MacIntosh is going ok.
my biggest annoyance is the fact that GPS makers don't suppor Mac products... there are several 3rd party apps that will let it wok though... Just gotta get around to ordering the adapter cable for my Barmin Legend. (And I'll want to get the power supply that I can plug into the car cigarette lighter. when I get that, Jos will probably be doing most of the driving for any long trips, while I play with the GPS stuff! :)
The program I've been using for my book databaseBook Collector doesn't currently have a Mac version. They are supposed to be releasing one early next year.
One that looks very nice on Mac is Bookpedia not sure which one I'll go with eventually... Hopefully, if I do switch to Bookpedia, I'll be able to import my current db.
My comics db ComicBase is no longer supported for Mac. Of course, I've not been keeping it updated anyway... nowhere near as up to date as my book db is.
Also, with as much work I do at Albertsons with barcodes, I want to get some type of barcode program for my Mac.
(One sad thing about Albertsons, in regards to barcodes... Sunrise 2005 was announed in 1997, stating that all US retailers are to be able to scan EAN barcodes starting 1 January 2005... When did our IT department start working on this? September 2004... they don't expect to have our systems ready for it before March 2005, at the earliest! (our system is so outdated in many ways... we are still working with at least 2 systems. Albertsons and American Stores Company (Jewel/Osco/SavOn). I'm pretty sure Acme and Shaws, in the northeast are also seperate systems, but we don't work with them at all....)
well, time to go to bed... gotta get up early for work... :/
