Well, following in the footsteps of
invisiblebear I splurged on buying 4 CDs today. At WallyWorld.
(I think this is the most I've bought at one time.)
A bit of an eclectic selection
human clay by Creed. I've heard them enough on radio and enjoyed them enough that I finally decided to pick this up. It helps that they are going to be here in Phoenix tomorrow night. Not that I'm going to go see them....
Greatest Hits Howard Jones 80s Synth Pop king. 'nuff said! «G»
All Time Greatest Hits Lynyrd Skynyrd had nothing by them b4. 'nuff said.
Hot August Night Neil Diamond Some people may give me grief for liking Neil, but :Þ on them. I grew up hearing him since my Mom was a fan of his. I like his music. Melodic, rythmic, and lyrics you can sing along with. This is a 2 CD set with 3 songs that weren't released on the original LP. (For those of you who don't know, Hot August Night was recorded live at the Greek Theater, in LA August 24, 1972. when I wasn't quite 5 years old. Mom got it on double album, and 8track tape. The 8 track is long gone, of course. (and not because the format itself is outdated... it got played enough that it wore out. or the tape player ate it...)
There is one way in which I like the album version better... Since it was recorded live, on the original album, they bridged songs with banter and applause, making each side of each album pretty much continuous. On the CD, there are CLEAR breaks between the songs! It really throughs off the rythm of it if your used to the album.
Also, if CDs can hold so much more info than album, why in the world couldn't they have put all of the 2 album set onto 1 cd??

Like I said, SynthPop 80s music, stuff that was popular when in high school....
Some of his songs are No One Is To Blame, Things Can Only Get Better, and New Song (Currently listening to New Song)
All but 2 of the songs on the CD were recorded i concert in 2001. The CD was released this year, and I seem to have been the first person to enter the info into the CDDB... «g»
(and it was already cheap @ WallyWorld!)
And is it just me, or are CDs getting almost impossible to get out of their plastic wrap??
