For some reason, a story I read years ago pops into my head occasionally. (Actually, 2 different ones, now that I think about it...)
I'm pretty sure they were both in Omni magazine, but have no idea specific time frame or author.

1) Man notices that ppl. who are breathing in synchrony, end up dying within the next short time period. (I think 15 minutes or so.) The story ends with him breathing in synchrony with a fairly large group of ppl. (a plane?). He tries to break out of the pattern, but can't. Plane (?) crashes (?)

2) This one, the only thing I remember is character. Interstellar pilot, heavily cyborged. If I remember correctly, the only flesh parts left (besides brain) are gut and penis. Seems like he tells (ships computer ?) that the reason he kept those, is a man can lose a lot, but as long as he can eat and have sex, he still feels human.

Any ideas?

Gee, I'm on vacation for just a few days, and I've posted more than I have for quite awhile.

Friday, Jos drove me down to a medcenter, so I could piss in a cup, So I can work @ Wal*Mart part time over the X-mas season.. Called W yesterday, see what was up. She said she hadn't heard back from the med place yet. When Jos got home last night, he said he'd asked her about it, and that the courier service hadn't even picked up the specimen on Friday! :þ Called today, and she still hadn't heard back from them.... Hopefully she'll hear tomorrow!

I want a GPS unit! :)
I want to do GeoCaching, and GeoDashing, and BenchMark hunting.
Oh well, one of these days... I've been bidding on some Magellan Handspring units (since I do own a Handspring. but keep getting outbid.)

We had to make a quick run down to Wal*Mart to pick up a few things.
they were playing Thompson Twins on the in store music system!

Yes, I'm a child of the 80s. (My dad got to see them, backstage even!, one year when he was working security @ the Illinois state fair. He, having grown up in the early 60s, of course was totally unimpressed. :þ I was SOOOOOO jealous of him about that!)

You know you've not been back to home town in a long time, when the high school you went to is getting torn down and rebuild, and you learn about it from a webpage...
