Car vs Bike, car wins, obviously.
Yep, I had my first close encounter with a car while riding my bike home today. luckily, I escaped pretty much unscathed (unlike Monte, our former roommate!)
Total damages:
scraped cheek, scraped left knee (right knee a bit sore also), and my left big toe is sore.
scratched the left lens of my glasses, and messed up the left leg of them.
Bike: front wheel is now shaped pretty much like a Pringle, the right brake grip/handle has the end broken off it, and the rear wheel is a little warped.

Riding on the sidewalk, against flow of traffic. I had the walk signal, and just as I got in front of her right corner, she pulled out a bit, right into me.
I've got her name and phone number, and she has said she will pay for new wheel.

Ok, i'm going to yell at you like i did Monte when he had his accident, since didn't tell me that you did the same stupid thing that he did. I suppose its best that you hadn't reported the accident, since she would've been 50% responsible at most. You really shouldn't be riding on the sidewalk and definitely not riding against the flow of traffic. Like him, you got hit by someone not expecting traffic from their right, especially not something fast moving like a bicycle. I should make you walk to work for the next week as punishment.
