It's Raining!
It's Pouring!
The Old Man is Snoring!

Bumped his head
went to bed!
Won't be up till Morning!

Well, asside from my nervolusness, things seem to be going pretty well between Jos and me. :)

Did some exploring yesterday, down towards Queen's Creek (way SE section of Phoenix metro) and Mesa area. Jos has been looking at classifieds for houses / other rentals lately, planning for where to move when our lease is up @ this place. (And yes, my paranoia kicks in a little bit... after all, this is a nice place. Lease doesn't end till Nov. Why start looking now? Yes, I realize it's just paranoia. If he was truly trying to find someplace w/out me, he could just as easily be looking @ papers when I'm not home... :)
He'd seen some houses for sale down in Queens Creek for ~$90K. Once we got down there, it's easy to see why so low... The area isn't really developed yet, yet there are big, exclusive developments going up down there. Advertised @ >$200K! And yet we passed some cattle feed lots and a couple landfills...
Hmmm... I got the feeling that there is little to no planning going on in the developments down there, and would be very wary of moving down there. Sure, if we could afford $90K right now, we would probably be able to sell for a nice profit in a few years.... But aside from the huge commute it would be for me, there's not a lot down there, other than the housing developments... Once we got past Mesa area, we only passed 1 grocery store/ gas station...
Bleagh...

Now, Mesa seems fairly nice. Wouldn't mind buying a place down there. Maybe get a bit of a fixerupper... :)

We got a foam mattress last week. makes sleeping a bit better.

Mmmmm, well, house wise I'm thinking long term, neither of us have the money nor the credit to manage it... Well, a mobile would be possible, they're cheaper than cheap, $25K for a 2BD unit, though most are in senior parks.

Shorter term, I like either central Phoenix or Mesa. The part of cP we saw at the art detour tour reminded me of home, not necessarily a good thing, while the Mesa/Gilbert area(we drove right along the border the whole way) is nice, not as built up here. My thing is that the prices are better down there, and there's a few minor things I don't like here, little things that don't work right, poor construction(I can make the wall move in my old room), things like that. Nothing big or important, but still, I expect better from a modern complex, this whole area is not much more than 10 years old.

Oh, and as to Queen Creek, its not just some spotty planning, I expect long term goals to make it all a gate community. No, more fun is to look at the map and the white holes in Queen Creek. What's a white hole? Its a piece of Maricopa County land within another town, and that means just what it sounds like, that land isn't subject to the same rules as the surrounding area, and Queen Creek has a lot of them.
