Dinged my hand, trying to get the battery out this evening....
Well, start at the beginning of the day.
Went out to see if car would start. Of course it didn't, but it never hurts to double check. Ask ppl. sitting in the 'common area' of the hotel if anyone has jumper cables. One guy, who I think may be owner, or co owner or something, since his truck is always sitting in front of the door, does. He gets his truck (the first time I've actually seen it moved) down to where my car is, gets it situated and we jump my car.
It hesitates for a minute, then starts turning over slowly, then revs and starts. I think, "OK, maybe I left something on last night, the alternator will recharge the battery on the drive to work." After all, it is a 25 minute drive.
Thank guy, tune radio in and head off. Get on freeway, get off at Bell, and decide to stop @ the Albertson's a block north of work, to get Mt. Dew. (I have long since decided it is much cheaper to buy 2 2l every 2-3 days, than buy who knows how many cans and 20oz bottles during the day. Turn off the car, and try starting it. No go... if anything, it seems to have less power than before.
Buy my Dew, and ask manager if it's alright if I leave my car there for the day, and he says yes.
Walk to work.

Diane, my partner on the Scan Hotline agrees to take me over to WalMart to get a new battery.
Together we barely have enough tools to get the battery out. Get the leads off, and try to loosen the bolt holding the tightening plate (or whatever the thing that holds the battery in place is called...) The sucker is NOT moving, and the 'ratchet' I'm using to loosen it slips off, dinging my hand. (The thing MUST have been tightened with a power tool) Diane buys some W-D40, spray it, and let it soak for a couple minutes... SSKREEEK! and it's loose!
Pull the battery out, and notice the liquid level is about 1/4 inch below the min level line...
Get over to Wally world, switch, and out new one in...
Moment of truth and....
Yep it was the battery!
