Jan. 19th, 2002 11:07 pmquiet night at home. (aren't they all?)
Got memory for my 'puters, but haven't installed it yet.
bought M$ Works Suite, and played around w/ the Streets & Trips2002 program.
(Actually, didn't have to pay for either of them... Had an item I had to return to BestBuy. Exchanged it for them.)
One of the things I miss about Kansas City is going out to Missy B's. Nice gay bar, with a neighborhood bar feel.
Started going regularly when I was living right behind it.
Went fairly regularly on Tues/Thurs nights, for Karaoke. «g»
Even when I moved from that house, the next 2 apts. were withing walking distance.
Haven't found a good bar in Champaign... Not that I've really looked to hard...
In person, until I get to know someone fairly well, I am quite shy/introverted. Heck, even around ppl. I know fairly well, I'm still quiet.
One of these days, I need to get around to recording some of my tapes onto my 'puter to listen to. And to record onto CD, so I can listen to them in my car.
(Yes, I finally got music in my car! Very nice! (Even better is having a car that has working HEAT!! :) Got CD player installed middle Dec, then about 4Jan, got my Xmas present from Dad & Stepmom in mail..... A CD player! Cracked up laughing at the irony! In general, was a GREAT present, since they knew I didn't have music in my car and was wanting it... Just shows how little I communicate with them. :/
Dad's a lot like me in some ways. Quiet, introverted. Though I wouldn't really call him shy. Add in the fact that we have almost NO interests in common, and after we talk about family and weather, we pretty much run out of stuff to talk about.
He's really into cars. He rebuilds old cars, and hotrods them. He and Jane go all over the country to car shows since he retired.
I have no real interest in cars. As long as it gets me around, I'm satisfied. (The box they shipped radio to me in was for an intake manifold... (there was a present from an aunt in there too...) How many ppl. are going to have that type of box just sitting around?)
He and Jane each have an everyday car. Last time I was down there, I think he had 3 other cars that ran, and 4 or 5 others he was either working on or using for parts... His garage space is larger than the living space... (I would REALLY hate to see what they have to pay for insurance and licenses!)
