Flower Garden (WIP)
Oct. 24th, 2014 10:03 pmI've mentioned in passing a couple places that I'm trying to make a flower garden in front of our townhome.

This shows the area I'm working with. I'd already pulled some of the Ivy before I took this pic.
This one was taken this morning. The flower blooming is a Blanket Flower I got at WalMart. (was quite rootbound when I got it) The flowers showing have bloomed since I planted it about 3 weeks ago, so seems to like the area. The small blotch of green to the right of it is a small chrysanthemum. There are a couple of Irises to the left of the Blanket Flower, and I just planted some Hyacinth bulbs that
javarod bought. I also have an angel statuette, for any helpful spirit to inhabit. :) (It was left behind at a previous apartment. I adopted it, always meaning to use it in this way.)
With the fencing in place, I have been doing some raking in the front and back, and putting them onto my garden. Sweet Gum from the front, and Maple from the back. I'm hoping that they will decay over the winter, and provide nutrients for the soil, and attract earthworms.
I'm wanting to get some Jack-in-the-Pulpits and Lilies of the Valley for the area right by the wall, to the right of the utility box.
I'd also like to get some Milkweed, Tobacco, and Marigolds growing in there also.
