Job Stuff

«bouncies»
Looked at the 'Jobs Posting' bulletin board for Albertson's today.
There was an Exempt position out in Tolleson AZ (a sw suburb of Phoenix), one that includes Relocation Assistance!!!
«bounciebouncies»

It's with the Albertson's side of the company, dealing with pricing. States that it's Meat, Deli and Liquor Pricing. Entering and proofing ads (if I remember right...) And several other related types of stuff...
And I learned from Linda before I left work tonight that ABS (Albertson's) uses a different pricing system than ADS (American Drug Stores, which incljudes Osco) But ADS is supposed to eventually switch to the ABS system.

Now, I can see that this could be good or bad, in terms of getting the job out there.
On the good side: Since I have been w/ Osco for almost 9 years now (and THAT is scary enough in itself!! O.O ) and have been involved with Scanning/pricing for at least half the time, I know our system fairly well. I know our computer systems quite well, as an end user.
Therefor, while I would have to learn quite a bit of stuff new on the ABS system (at least I assume so... since Linda did say it was different.) by doing it now, as an enduser, not a programmer or anything, I'll be able to help in the transition, by already having gone through it. Be able to give suggestions.

On the bad side: Maybe they don't want to do any retraining for this position...
They may be only wanting someone who already knows the ABS system, as well as I know the ADS system.

What TOTALLY amazed me about the posting was that it IS exempt (salaried) with relocation assistance.
From the info given in the posting, it seems like it's the same type of stuff as I'm wanting to do on the Osco side out there, but those positions are NOT exempt, and DON'T include relocation assistance. The actually getting out there has been the MAJOR sticking point. As I've said before, I've been told by ppl. on the Osco side, that when I can get out there (even if there is no official job openings at that point in time) they will find something for me! «G» (That is SUCH an ego boost, just thinking about that!! :)

What I'm thinking, if I get this job (crosses all fingers and toes! :) and get the relocation assistance out there, is unless I really enjoy the job, which is possible, next year to look at getting back on the Osco side...
I think even if I get this, I'll want to keep in touch with Linda and the other ladies I know out there.

(and this just TOTALLY annoys me all over again, about how BeastBuy treated me!! If they had done the 'sensible' thing and hired me «g» I'd be well on the way to getting my moving money saved up, and wouldn't want to leave right now. Or if they had done the polite thing, and LET ME KNOW that they weren't going to hire me, I would have been doing much more job looking in that time period...)

Well, we shall see what we shall see.
