Wonders if there's anything to be done...

Hmmm...
Don't know if anyone will find this interesting, or what exactly can be done at this point, but in rereading one of my old Analog magazines, I came across an article talking about how our (USA's) patent system has been totally reworked/lost... http://www.trudelgroup.com/pwars.htm

You know, the more I read about Clinton and his presidency, the more scared I get for our future.....
Again, I don't really know what can be done at this point in time. (Though I find myself becoming more and more conservative. Though that may just be consequence of aging... )

Makes me wish I had payed more attention to political stuff earlier, been more active.....

I've always been in favor, in principal, of a unified world government. Just has always seemed logical...
Somehow, I don't think the way we're currently heading is quite right.....

Even less noticed is that, concurrently, individuals within PTO management have blocked whole areas of emerging science. The poster child for this bureaucratic blockage is cold fusion, and one result is that this area of research is almost dead in the United States. The Japanese and others are funding it, and those who discovered the phenomena have now left the country to continue their work

Trudel's more than a bit of a loon. I'd be the first to rant about the happenings in patent and IP law during the past decade, but Trudel is waaaaaay out there with conspiracy theories of how he thinks the Japanese are pulling the strings of the PTO.
